About Me

Benedictine University, 2016, M.P.H..

Hi, I’m Patricia! I’m a long-time single mother raised in New York’s iconic Hudson Valley. I am blessed with two strong adult daughters, although at times I honestly didn’t believe I would ever make it through! When I am not gardening, day tripping, creating art, or tending to my seemingly domestic zoo, I am (more likely) causing trouble with my two grand-littles.

Thirteen years in the U.S. Air Force’s enlisted medical/dental field presented many feats for me as a single mother. Focused on my children and career, I avoided diagnosis because of stigma, both personal and professional (depression and anxiety–bonus!). I know that the struggle is real, but I also know that women are stronger than any challenge thrown their way.

Although I am not a medical or mental health provider, I do hold a Masters’ degree in Public Health (M.P.H.), which enables me to better understand the effects of environment upon people. By environment, I mean the greater picture–community, physical/mental health and healthcare, disparities, inequities, socio-economic barriers, single motherhood and childcare, and other challenges faced daily.

Today, my mission is to offer your readers a sense of belonging by providing content relatable to all women who feel they might struggle more than they succeed, and by showing them that they, too, have it in them to succeed!
